Water Testing

Room 12 have been busy testing pH Nitrates and nitrites. The children have been testing both tank water and the stream water. They also tested the water out of the tap to use as a control. 

Plenty of fish spotted

Last Thursday Room 12 went for our weekly walk to check our local waterway. We were surprised to see over 8 large breeding trout. The children spotted most of them and got very good at identifying habitats that the fish would be in. Under tussocks and cover was very popular for the fish. 

The stream was in good condition and was flowing well.
